Eurovision nightGot myself some ice cream and will be making myself compfy on the sofa so I'm ready for the big, glittery, horrible music, camp, pointless politics, drama that is eurovision. It never disappoints me.

Sadly I will be alone for this one. Matt had to do a concert he didn't want to do, so I will be live tweeting (humonlazydiva) my impression of the whole shebang.

The Echo chamber dilemmaThe promise of the Internet was that unlimited information and experiences would draw us together. But instead it seems to have driven us apart.
For years I've observed this behavior but haven't been able to vocalize it correctly. Originally I called the behavior of collective opinions as "the hive mentality" of the Internet. But that wasn't exactly right and I often got called out on it. The most prominent example was when I made a comic about a guy disagreeing with opinions and being shouted at till he remained quiet, eventually fading into the background with everyone else. The consensus of that comic was that if you disagree with someone you aren't bullied into not speaking, but instead are free to go someplace else where people who do agree with you exist. And you know what? That wasn't what i was trying to convey, but is sadly true. The Internet is not a hive mind. It's many tiny pocket echo chambers of mutual agreements.
And this is becoming a growing problem, I think, because n

Today I climbed a mountain.

That is all.

...well not really. xD

~Rustyfur, *Kialish, my dad and I and several people who work with my dad tok a nice long Trip to Mt.Carleton and hiked all the way to the top. (almost 3000ft)
We're all sore all over, but it was great experience, especially knowing that it is the highest peak in the Maritime Provinces. My favourite part had to be scaling giant boulders.

The way down was easier, but I nearly fell on my face several times, twice I was saved by my walking stick. xD

My weekend was great and hopefully at school next week things will be improving. (Some problems have been making things difficult.)

So goodnight! (or day/morning!)

EDIT: Oh yeah, on the way there and back we saw about 21 deer (does and fawns), two bull moose, a weasel, a ground bird (I can't recall the name) and on the mountain peak we saw a single squirrel.
